How can I get a checking account with bad credit?

Question: How can I get a checking account with bad credit?I've been denied checking accounts from banks because of bad credit history. I really need a checking account. Are there ones you can get with no credit check?

Answer: -If you have problems with finding a traditional bank that will let you open an account, another alternative for you is to go with a prepaid Visa or MC card account. It seems that most of them say they aren't checking against ChexSystems. That includes the one that I recently got, which also has no overdraft fees and has online bill pay too. It's at www.readydebit.com. You pretty much get all the same features as a bank account (FDIC insured, direct deposit, etc...) with one exception, no paper checks (but again, online bill pay makes that not too big of an issue). Check it out as an option. -It depends on what you have on your credit report. You will not have any luck if you have other banks that you have used previously and still owe money to for things such as bounced checks. Those never look good. And unless you live in a really small town almost all banks run credit checks. -I didn't know that they ran a credit report for a cheeking accounts. i usually walked in, signed a couple of forms and off i go. Try opening a savings account with them first if you don't all ready have one. keep a steady balance in that account for a couple of months and use that to show them that you are ready for a cheeking account. Another way that you can show them is to save as much money on the side of your own and once you have alot of money saved up (maybe $500.00 to $1000.00 give or take) and tell them that you want to open a cheeking account and deposit this cash today. i would think that it would be hard for them to turn you away with all that cash.I also remember seeing some online cheeking accounts too, but they are probably be more stricted about your credit history and would probable deny your application. just give the other idea a thought and see whats best for you and time will tell.
