Credit score help?

Question: Credit score help?I have a bank of america visa credit card and have a credit limit of only $2500. I have other cards from other bank and they have minimum 6000 and maximum 50000 credit limit. I am planning to request a credit limit increase in the $2500 visa card from bank of america mentioned above. will the request hurt my credit score or my credit history? or will it be bad in other way.

Answer: -Anytime there is an inquiry regarding your credit report (apart from when you order your own), it lowers your credit score...but not significantly, so I wouldn't worry about it.What you want to concern yourself with is what the ratio of available credit is to debt...never ever use up all your limit!! -Raising credit limits, can always effect your credit, not always in a huge/bad way. it only gets bad when you rack to much onto them and dont pay them. i say if you dont need such a high limit, then dont bother raising it. -Having too much open credit is not good.My friends father has all these cards and he has between all of them 150,000 at his disposal and he applied for some sort of loan or something and they turned him down because he had too much "Debt potential."At a certain point it's not good- I have 4 cards with $20 grand worth of credit and I've got fine credit. -Have you ever thought about how many people in our country don't have a perfect credit score? You will surely be surprised to know that over 30 million Americans have a below average credit score. Boosting your credit rating takes some work. There is no quick fix to increasing your ratings. Repairing any damage takes time, but it also does not spell doom!So what is credit rating anyways? It is a number given to assess and reflect your creditworthiness.
