My girlfriend and i really want to get a mortgage but our credit rating is bad. any ideas who can help us???

Question: My girlfriend and i really want to get a mortgage but our credit rating is bad. any ideas who can help us???We live in the uk. We live with our parents, we have about 2000 saved up for a deposit which isnt very much. We earn about 32000 together. we have debts too. and we would like to add these to a mortgage if its a good idea. we have heard that some lenders give five times your salary which means they should lend us about 160000. We have a debt of about 20000 between us and we are hoping we can put this onto your mortgage? is this possible? if this is possible we have seen property for about 130000-140000? can anyone suggest any lenders that could help us. Also does anyone know if its a good idea to buy a property from a auction? again i have a bad credit history, we are both in full time employment.

Answer: -Are you in the UK, Have you tried Northern Rock - I have my mortgage through them for the same reason. They are a high street lender & not one of these backstreet organisations. Another plus side is to have a deposit - I got mine based on 100% so no deposit, the intrest is higher. Mke sure you do plent of shopping around & try to find a good reccomended independant finacial advisor if your still stuck. -a) Make sure you can actually afford the mortgage (if you get one) purely and simply because you have advised you have a bad credit rating, there is a reason for this!b) Don't use one of them naff companies that advertise on TV coz they'll end up charging you phenominal amounts of interest (because you have a bad credit rating).c) Might be best to save even more! -You will have to speak to a mortgage adviser who should be able to arrange a loan however be warned he will charge you for arranging it and also the loan is unlikely to be with one of the big companies therefore the interest will likely be higher if they offer you interest only to keep the payment lower remember you will always have the debt to pay so try and obtain a repayment mortgage.
