There are some people out there who are trying to ammend the Fair Credit Reporting Act to include free credit scores. -I haven't done it, but I will advise you to be very careful doing it. Every time you check your credit score, it shows up on your credit rating as you asked for a loan. So if you check three times in a year, suddenly it looks like three more times you were asking for credit, a loan, mortgage, whatever.To be honest with you, the best thing to do is just go and get whatever it is you need. If you are planning to buy a house or a cell phone, just go and do it. It's embarrassing if they say no, but checking your credit score frequently is not a good idea.Go talk to your banker. He or she will give you a much better idea. And try to stay out of debt as much as possible!!!
