What happens if I mail a letter to repair credit from a different state I live in?

Question: What happens if I mail a letter to repair credit from a different state I live in?Would a item I want investigated have any problems if I mail a letter from a state different from where I live. Basically, I live in Virginia, the letter is post marked from Maryland, but the return address does say Virginia.

Answer: It doesn't matter where you mail the letter from. The important factor is the current address on file with the credit bureaus. Hopefully the address on file is where you want to receive your reply. It's always a good idea to provide the credit bureau a copy of your driver's license or a copy of some type of mail (cable bill for example)that has your current name and mailing address. Even if you send proof of identification to the credit bureau's with your dispute, they may still send you a reply asking you for identification again. If that is the case, re-send your request again along with a copy of the letter from the credit bureau. If you do not get the response you need, do not give up.
