Credit score go up?If I had things cleaned up on my credit history, how long should it take for my credit to go up?

Question: Credit score go up?If I had things cleaned up on my credit history, how long should it take for my credit to go up? I cancelled some cards that I never use to take away 'potential debt'and I had a medical collections deleted from the record. According to a credit simulator, collections take 70 pts off your credit score. So do I get that back if I got it removed?Additionally, I am paying over $1500 against the debt I have...

Answer: -Equipped with the score, it is now easier for you to work towards improving it. The thumb rule for having a good credit score is to pay all your bills regularly. When you pay your bills on time, you increase your credit rating for future. This is for sure, the easiest and most simple way to boosting your credit scores!Another good way of improving your scores is by paying off some of the bad debt you may have accrued. The less money you owe people, the better your credit rating will be. Once you have a zero balance on your card, wait for at least a month. Even though you may have paid off the entire balance on your card each month, this will only get reflected as a balance which gets reported to the Credit Bureau, a little later. -Credit scores are updated immediately when an item is removed. The flow of information is constantly updating and the scoring models constantly updating the scores. I have never had a collection removed for a client that resulted in an increase of 70 points. It is usually more like 30 points. Truth is, no one knows what's in the scoring models except the CRA's. They have never been forced to disclose what is in the models. We can only glean this information from seeing the results of the dispute and then doing a rescore. -It will not go up very high and when you cancel some cards, your credit score wil go down even more!
