Question: How do you fix your credit score.from just shopping around for a car?Looked at 2 dealers and it dropped my credit score fast and alot.Several inquires in a short time.
Answer: -Stop letting dealers pull your credit report when you are just shopping for a car in the future.2 inquiries shouldn't drop your score more than 5-10 pts.Inquiries stop impacting your credit score after 6 months.Inquiries completely drop off your credit report after 2 years. If you can't wait 6 months then file a dispute with the credit bureaus stating that the inquiries weren't done with your permission. -It shouldn't drop your score that much. Also, if a bunch of different lenders are pulling your credit while you're shopping for a mortgage or car or whatever, the credit bureaus squash all those inquiries into one and only consider it one inquiry. -Stop running your credit and a bit of time a few months , beyond that keep plugging away at your payments on time and all will be fine.
