Question: Credit Repair help! I have paid every bill owed on my credit report, meaning I am debt free, READ ON? However even though all my debts are paid (what a great feeling)my credit report is a mess because these lousy creditors have not updated my report. So in reveiwing my report I am so over whelmed by the amount of items that are incorrectly reported, that I know have to fix. I simply do not have time to do this myself between work and school. Does anyone know of a trust worthy compnay that can do this for me, please list a company that works to get these items either off my report or at least updated as paid. Please list a company that you have had personal expirience with and can be relied on.
Answer: -You're better off taking the time to do this yourself.Someone you hire is not going to know whether or not some info is correct or incorrect. -You will have to spend the same amount of time with the repair company that you would have to put into it yourself. They will need all the payment documentation, dates, etc. So you'll have to pay them to learn about the problem, pay them to learn when and how you paid it, and pay them to contact the companies. Plust they won't have the same interest in getting it right that you do. -All you have to do is get in contact with the three credit agencies, you can even do this over the phone, tell them you want to dispute everything on your credit report. They will get in touch with the creditors, then they will update everything for you. Kudos on paying everything off on you credit report. But it is better if you did this instead of paying someone to do it for you. It was a lot of work, but I had a lot of things deleted off mine. It is worth the time. -Filing a dispute with each credit bureau isn't that time consuming. You can list each item and the reason for dispute. Doesn't have to be complicated. You could just say "paid in full". Don't even bother sending proof of payment. The credit bureaus contact the creditor for verification -- which is just the creditor saying yes or no. It should be all addressed within 45 days.Don't waste money on a credit repair company. Their tactics tend to get reversed on down the road.Congratulations on paying everything off!
