Question: Where can I get a FREE CREDIT SCORE? every place I find, signs u up for a month trial or charges.?every place I have found charges for a months trial or makes you pay. I thought it was obligated by law to give you your free credit score.
Answer: -They shouldn't charge you for the month trial. I did one through experian, i think it was...anyways, I downloaded my credit report and cancelled the membership the same day, no problems and no money out of my pocket. -Here's the catch. By law they are obligated to provide you a copy of your credit report from the 3 major bureaus once annually so that you can review them and make sure they are accurate. In order to actually obtain your score you must sign up for the service. It sounds ridiculous and it is, but that is how the fair credit reporting act was written. For the bureacracy, by the bureacracy. -No.. it is only required they give you a credit report. The report details your history and obligations, but does not have to include your score. -All places offer them as free but it does require enrolling or signing up for something. The best you can do is enroll and then tomorrow call and cancel after you get a copy of the report. Or you can contact one of the 3 agencies directly. TransUnion, Equafax and Experian.
