Question: CAn u buy a house with bad credit? how? chargeoffs, collections?
Answer: -How recent is your bad credit. If you're talking within the last six months then you'll have a he!!ofva hard time plus high interest rates.Regardless...it can be done, your interest will just be on the high side. But the older the bad credit accounts the better. If you have any on your credit file that are small enough for you to payoff - then do that. But a bank will finance you. Find a good loan officer. There are several in all areas that assist people with bad credit and get them financed. The loan officer will assess your credit and tell you what he can and cannot do to get you into a house. He might request that you write a statement to the bank explaining the delinquent accounts on your file or he might even ask that you pay some of the accounts off it they are small (i.e. $100 or less).BUT you won't know until you find a good loan officer and speak with him/her.Don't let bad credit stop you from owning your own piece of property. Just be ready for a higher interest rate. Don't do anything else to damage your credit between now and the time that you get approved such as applying for more credit. And be ready for the responsibility. Don't get the house and then turn it into another bad credit situation. And don't fret about the down payment too much. You can definitely get assistance if it is available such as grants or gifts, and/or negotiate the price to where you get a portion of the down payment financed into your loan. Just talk to your loan officer and be firm about it. -Depends on how bad...do you have money for a down payment? If your credit is bad, you wont qualify for 100% financing..Either route you aren't going to know anything by asking a question here until you have a professional analyze YOUR credit, YOUR income and employment, YOUR finances, etc..This will determine what YOU qualify for, which is what matters in the end..
