How does any one get a cell phone or credit cards if they have bad credit?

Question: How does any one get a cell phone or credit cards if they have bad credit?

Answer: -I'd recommend getting a secured credit card to help establish a better credit rating. You'll give the credit supplier $500 which is used as a security deposit. They have no risk because they have $500 of your money to use towards paying your debt should you default. You cannot over-extend yourself. They will report to credit bureaus when you pay on time every month, so make sure to do so.As for cell phones, you can find suppliers who will give you a non-prepaid phone, but I'd recommend getting a prepaid and not worrying about wondering what your bill is going to be month-to-month. Verizon, Cingular, T-Mobile and Tracfone have good prepaid plans. -With a phone the best way is prepaid plans. You pay up front for the minutes instead of after you use them. With credit cards you usually have to give them a "good faith fee" before you get the card and that's normally expensive. -My husband had to put down a deposit. Or you get a co-signer or have your parents get one in their name. Cingular will let you put a down payment if you have no credit. Or you get a pay as you go phone. Or a tracfone, you buy phone cards. -Sprint will give you a cell phone on a month to month basis becuase you pay one month ahead of time. Also there are many pre-paid cell phone plans these days. You can pick up a pre-paid phone plan at any Target -My credit sux. I went to US Cellular. I paid a $100 security deposit which i can get back this year. I pay $50. a month. All incoming calls are free. Nights and weekends are $5.99 a month. Nights start at 7:00pm. Holidays are Free. Incoming calls are also free. Though my minutes do not roll over i find my 1000 minutes to be plenty each month. In fact now that i do much of my correspondence via email i find it more than adequate. Also credit cards stink. They can really do a lot more damage to your credit. Apply for a visa check card. Anyone can get one. Go through a credit union. Furthermore to establish good credit, build a re pour with a credit union ( banks are worthless unless they offer a better rate on their Cd's or something) Anyways build a good re pour with a credit union and take out a small loan of $500. You'll put $500. In a savings account 1st i think. The idea is so that you can slowly pay back the money to build on your credit and you can just continue that process. There are bound to be other ways but there are also alot of credit re-building scams out. Do your homework! Get a debit card. Credit cards a worthless.
